Elfball Black Widows team - completed 29th July 2013

Hi All,

Long time no blogging so I thought I'd update you with my recently completed team. The models are from Shadowforge apart from the Naga which is from Impact Miniatures.

I've been using this team as Pro Elves in Bloodbowl, but need to finish a few more line elves before that's completed - I'm at the dangerous stage where I have enough painted to play with so there's a chance the remaing few will not be completed like in many of my other teams... let's hope I can be diciplined enough to 100% finish them.

They're not doing too badly in league play at the moment - I'm on 5 wins and 2 losses and 3rd place. I'll also be taking the team to the Thrudball in August so hopefully I'll get some good games out of them in the tournament setting too!

Hack Enslash - Completed November 2012

Hi All,

Here's a recent conversion to make a suitably pint-sized Star Player for my ongoing Deadling Necromantic and Undead teams.
The model is a two-piece conversion, the Deadling skeleton is from Impact! and the Chansaw and hands was cut from an unfortunate goblin made by Neomics. Due to the size, gluing was a bit fiddly!

I may add a bit of blood spatter sometime later to the model, but at the moment I'm not sure how best to do this...

I've now managed to get 3 different uses out of the same miniature! :-)

Skaven Blitzer - Finished October 2012

I recently finished this model for the Talk Fantasy Football 2012 Legacy team, which this year is Underworld!

The team is shaping up nicely - here's a shot from the organiser of models received so far:

Bloodbowl Chaos Team - Work In Progress

Here's my Chaos team - they frst started getting painted back in around 2004 when I used them in a league at the local GW store. I've been using them in the Cakebowl League this season, and finally they're getting finished!

Here's the warriors - the 2 on the left were painted years ago, and the 2 on the right over the last couple of weeks... The main reason I delayed painting this team was because I was worried about whether I could get them to match.

And the Minotaur - I know he's not the most efficient use of TV, but the high ST and Mighty Blow do have their uses! I love the old 2nd Edition models as they fit nicely size wise. He's based on 30mm and was finished in the last couple of weeks

More pics to follow soon once I've got some more beastmen finished....

Prize for the 2012 Cakebowl Tournament - finished 20th May 2012

Here's a model donated by Sann0638 as a prize for 4th Place at the Cakebowl this year. The model is Zorg by Impact Miniatures. For those that don't know, our fellow club member Glowworm has always complained about not having prizes for 4th place.

I was the lucky recipient of the very first 'Glowworm' award last year at the Cakebowl, and I understand that the NAF are now considering making a Glowworm award a requirement for any future tournaments to be sanctioned by them... you heard it here first.

Just for Glowworm, I stalked his facebook page for pics of his tatoos and did my best to replicated them on the model. I'd better also note that I don't believe Glow has a large red number 4 inked across his stomach...

Deadling Cheerleader - Finished 24th May 2011

Hello! Okay so it's been a few months since I last posted... this doesn't mean that I've not been painting, it's just that with upgrading to Windows 7 I lost my easy way of adjusting the colour balance of my photo's so I didn't have anything good to share...

Anyway, here's a Deadling Cheerleader that I've converted and just finished last night. The conversion was very easy, just bending the arms and adding bobs of greenstuff to make the pom-poms...

Helmut Wolf - finished (Belatedly) December 2011

So I tried to finish this in time for a competition on Talk Fantasy Football, but didn't meet the deadline.... This is a model from Willy Miniatures.
You've got to love a game which allows players to sneak chainsaws onto the pitch

Videador resin items - Painted December 2011

I ordered some more Monster dice from Videador, and also picked up some undead Turn and Reroll markers:

Along with my order, I received a free gift! It was a 30mm lipped base with a side peice that came complete with a magnet embedded. This works very nicely in conjunction with one of Impact's metal cored balls. The ball carrier can be stood in the lipped base, or otherwise the ball can be removed and placed on the players base as normal.

Orc Apothecary/Igor - painted December 2011

I like sideline pieces when playing Elfball and Bloodbowl. This one is an Orc Quack which I got via a friend from I believe some spanish coaches at this years World Cup. I've been looking for a suitable model to use as an Igor for a while, and am really happy with this one!

He's based on a hex so I can slot him into one of the bigger hex bases similar to the other tokens I've made.

Another Orc for the TFF Legacy team!

We had some dropouts for the TFF legacy team (which is normal) so I've painted another Orc, this time a Lineman so that the winner has a fully playable team! I'm really happy with the freehand chequered patterns and numbering on the pads, even though the rest of the paint job is fairly basic. He'll stand out well enough on the Line of Scrimmage!

Gnoll Elfball Team - completed 12th October 2011

I finished my Elfball Gnoll team yesterday! I've not used them in the game yet, but hopefully soon :-)
The models are from Impact

High Elf Blood Bowl Team - Finished 2010

This is my High Elf team, called the Albion Avatars. I've used them in several leagues over the last few years, but only completed the painting in 2010! The models are the Games Workshop ones and the coach is a converted wizard (I swapped his hand holding a sword with one holding a ball instead)

Lizardman Blood Bowl Team - Finished 2003

This is the first Blood Bowl team I painted, back when I re-started the hobby from my school days and joined a league in the Swindon Games Workshop store. They are called the T'Kila Slammers when I use them. The models are from Games Workshop.
